RETHINKING STUDENT INSTRUCTION

Friday January 21, 2022
8:30 - 1:00

Meals included
Great food. Great friends. Great conversation.

A morning summit of food, community, and genuine conversation around pedagogy.

This summit is an opportunity to celebrate the pedagogical underpinning of the Guided Pathways model. It's a chance for us to gather, eat comforting food, celebrate togetherness, and have rich conversations around the scholarship of teaching and learning.

The conversation will center around Chapter 3: Rethinking Student Instruction from the book Redesigning America's Community Colleges. The book is freely available online through the FLCC Library. Each of the conversations for the day will focus on selected readings from the book (listed in the descriptions). Even if you haven't read the chapter, please come for authentic conversations about our craft.

The events will be Hyflex, but no sessions will be recorded.

Panel

Guided Pathways is not prescriptive. It is not a blueprint. Guided Pathways is an inspiration. Join us for a panel discussion followed by a generative conversation about how the pedagogy of Guided Pathways might look at FLCC. We'll discuss the main criticisms, we'll critique previous reform movements, and we'll look at how FLCC has been practicing many of the philosophies already.
